This, I believe, is the water storage tank that is now behind the Walgreens Drugstore at the intersection of North Main and Lake Drive. At one point in time, that was the outskirts of the town. This sign was created by the Taylor Chamber of Commerce marketing and publicity committee, painted by Bob Sims. This sign served as a welcome to motorists driving down from 95 on the north of town. Pity, the tank has been painted over and really can’t be seen now at all.
